The AHJ – Portable Fire Extinguisher Standards, Codes, and RequirementsVirtual Trainingcourse provides AHJ participants an understanding of their role concerning the codes, standards, and requirements of Portable Fire Extinguishers. Content includes a review of NFPA standards, the types of special applications and requirements of Portable Fire Extinguishers, as well as gaining an understanding of the role a technician plays.
Content includes educating participants with the following topics: Code Reference Material, Selecting/Calculating Extinguishers, Location Requirements (Height/Weight), Travel Distance for Different Classes of Fire, Inspection & Maintenance Requirements, Obsolete Extinguishers, Overview of 6-year maintenance, recharging and hyrdotesting, Occupancy Hazards.
Attendee Instructions:
The virtual training will take place on the Zoom video conferencing platform. Please refer to the Outlook invite sent by the FED Learning Center for the virtual training zoom link.
Students should log in 5 minutes before the start time to ensure an on-time start. Any student who misses more than 10% of the class will be asked to retake the class to be awarded the Certificate of Completion.
